Rehome It ("we," "our," or "us") operates the Rehome It mobile application and associated web APIs. Rehome It is a giveaway platform matching individuals who have unused items with people who can use them.

Data We Collect
1. Personal & Account Information
Account Details: When you register, we collect your name, email address, phone number, and national identity number (CNIC). This data is used to establish your account, prevent duplicate sign-ups, handle abuse, and ensure community safety.
2. Listings, Requests, and User Content
Post Content: Descriptions, photos, categories, item condition, pickup addresses, optional contact phone numbers, and location coordinates attached to listings or requests.
Communication: In-app chat messages and public comments posted on listings.
3. Device & Technical Data
- Location: Precise or approximate location (when permitted) to display nearby listings and assign geographic coordinates to posts.
- Camera & Storage: Access to your camera and image gallery to attach images to listings, requests, or profile avatars.
- Push Notifications: Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) tokens to deliver transactional push updates regarding claims, requests, and messages.
- Technical Logs: IP addresses and network diagnostics transmitted securely over HTTPS for performance monitoring and fault resolution.
How We Use Your Data
- Operating the Service: Managing accounts, matching donors with recipients, processing requests, and enabling messaging.
- Safety & Fraud Prevention: Scanning submitted content for policy violations, abusive behavior, or security threats.
- Service Analytics & Infrastructure: Maintaining system stability, debugging server faults, and improving platform features.
Data Sharing & Processors
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. Data is shared only under the following circumstances:
- Community Interaction: Relevant details (e.g., listing photos, public display name, approximate location, and optional contact phone numbers) are visible to other users to coordinate item hand-offs.
- Service Providers: Trusted third-party infrastructure providers that host our platform and process push notifications (e.g., Google Firebase).
- Legal Requirements: When required by law enforcement, legal process, or to prevent imminent safety threats.
Data Retention & Account Deletion
We retain your personal data for as long as your account remains active or as necessary to fulfill service commitments, resolve disputes, and comply with legal obligations.
Account Deletion Rights: You have the right to request full deletion of your account and associated personal data at any time. Permissions & Control
You can grant or revoke location, camera, or notification permissions at any time through your device settings. Disabling these permissions may restrict access to certain app features.
Children's Privacy
Rehome It is not directed to individuals under the age of 13 (or the applicable legal age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Our published standards against child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE) are at /child-safety.
